Which ones would you recomend and why. All I want to use it for is to get some of the movies and programs off of my DVR and record them to DVD so we can take them with us in the car. I have some movies recorded from HBO on my DVR will I be able to record those to DVD?

You might have some troubles recording HBO programs/movies, I know I have and I am trying to find a way around that. I believe they have a copyright signal that they broadcast with all their programs. I think that some others on here have said that the Walmart Ilo recorders can get around this with some programing, but I am not 100% sure yet. As you can tell I am a noob at this stuff. I wouldn't mind buying a more expensive recorder, but I am not sure if you can mess around with the software on them yet and I am not sure which ones may work as is....if anyone else has some input it would most appreciated. I saw some Coby and Cyberhome recorders at FRY's that were pretty inexpensive but I am not sure what they will allow you to record without some tampering. Anyone know if there are recorders on the market that will record HBO out of the box?
    thanks in advance....
