Please help !! I got some sort of malware and had to delete the offending culprit (including setup.exe). However, in the process, I cannot put new programs onto my computer because it keep asking for a reference to the setup.exe Is there ANY way at all that I can go to a link to download a replacement for it ? Setup.exe isn't required to install ALL software and almost all programs come with an installer. So, you probably have more malware. Run ActiveScan.
Here is the thread that my computer say it is missing: c:\windows\system32\directxdll\svchost.exe Sorry I did not put it here earlier. Does this make a difference in your answer ? Please advise. Dave
Yes, my post means nothing now. Repair Windows with your recovery disc. If that doesn't work, reinstall DirectX.
