I was guided to this forum and not sure how to go about help. here is my problem. I am a beginner with nero/dvdshrink. I am able to burn successfully but my issue is the dvd will not play on my dvd player. It is not old. It is the vcr/dvd combo by Toshiba and I have had it less than three years. When I burn they play on other dvd players (friends) but mine will not. But if someone burns a dvd for me it plays perfectly. I have tried DVD+R / DVD+RW / DVD-R Maxwell and Fuji brands. I have gone crazy for a week trying to figure out what to do and I am at my wits end and really need help. Does it have to do with any type of settings in nero or dvd shrink?? I have gone back to read all I can and did make a few changes. With no success. Like I said I can burn but not play in my dvd player. ANY help is GREATLY appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your set top player may not like the +R format...but don't worry yet. What is the brand name and model # or your burner? If it is capable of being bitset you can make your stand alone player think you've inserted a store bought DVD. Second...the media you are using should be good if made in Japan. Third...at what speed do you burn? Should be no more than 4X's or one half the rating of the blank media. You can also try this burner... http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/imgburn.cfm I've not used it yet, but if it's as good as its predecessor, it should be excellent.
