i bought 2 dynex hdtv's from best buy, 1 is a 19" combo dvd that when i plug it into my cable and do a scan it picks up about 10-15 extra hd channels that show like 5-1 etc and they tell all the channel info which is kind of cool.

the other tv is a dynex also but a 22" dvd combo but when i run the scan it doesnt get these channels. what is in the tv that allows this or am i doing something wrong.
i also have a 46" samsung 1080p in my living room that doesnt pick up the hd channels unless i put a hd antena on it..

thanks for any info you can give me.

The TV's that tune in the digital channels have a ATSC receiver/tuner built in. Check the owners manual to determine if the 22" has the ATSC tuner. They will both have the NTSC for the analog signals. I have a new digital to analog receiver (the type being hyped on all the news) connected to rabbit ears and it will pick up most of the local stations. The location of the TV in your home may have something to do with the reception. Move the antenna if you can. Digital signals can be blocked by anything solid (buildings, trees, etc!).
