So yeh, i bought a SATA drive instead of an IDE cause my friend harddrive knackered and he needed a new one. I assumed it would be a sata drive, dont ask why, its not important. Whats important is that i just had a huge shock when the leads wouldnt fit So yeh, 1) Is there any way i can just buy different leads ? 2) Do you think the small computer shop will take this SATA one back in exchange for an IDE of the same value...it just came in a small pansy little plastic wrapper with a bit of cellotape to seal it. I bought it a week ago.
The shop might take it back, but you could buy one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812257001
