I have a DVR-105, and just tried burning a DVD of files to clear up disk space. It is supposedly a 4x drive, but it burned at 1x with the blank dvd that came with it. I used Nero, which I already had from the old CD-RW drive, before. (I'm looking at nero again, and 4x is now an option, now that the drive doesn't have a cd in it.. I dunno) It finished after an hour, and I put it in the drive and there's nothing there. I started a new multisession disc. Finalize DVD option was not checked. I thought that may be the problem, like with CD-Rs that did the same thing, and I would go back and "Continue multisession disc" and check finalize, and click write. When I try to continue multisession with the disc in there, it takes a while and says there's no media in the drive. I've now just put the disc in the drive to get the exact message, and now it seems to be working. So now my question is, other than the 1x thing up there: After burning CD's or DVD's, do they need time to cool off or something? Or is there some other explanation? I was pretty upset for a bit, there. I really don't want DVD coasters; they're expensive. Especially with the CD that came with the drive...
Ok, before I could finalize or anything, it's not working again... "No medium inserted or drive not ready, please try again." It's really frustrating Edit: It's working on and off. If I reboot and put the cd in, it usually will show there are files on it, and show the correct size of the disc (in explorer). When I eject the disc, it still says the same size, and when I put it back in, it doesn't update. It still says the same size and when I open it, it acts like there's nothing in the drive (showing no files, as if I had clicked without the cd in). Sometimes I can get it to work correctly by putting another CD in, and then putting mine in. I don't know what's wrong, I'm not liking this... I don't want to go through this everytime I want to use the drive
