That couldn't be right because my version 4 is 39001. You can't find out what it is by that number. There are guides on how to find it out.
[bold]dont believe me? check here http://mod-chip.com/ps2version.htm by the way i know that his ps2 is a v7 cause i also have a v7 right here by my pc. V7: If your model# is SCPH-39000, 39001, 39002, 39003, 39004, 39008 or 37000 you have a V7 PS2 main board. V4: The model # can be SCPH-30000, SCPH-30001, 35001, SCPH-30002, 35002, SCPH-30003, 35003, SCPH-30004, 35004 If the marked screw doesn't show up in the expansion bay of your PS2 then please take a look on the bottom of the PS2 case. If there is an electrical hazard warning on the bottom of the case then it is a V4.
pas2mania, 39001 are V7 guaranteed.... there's no way it's a V4.... the only way yours could be a V4 is that someone put a V4 motherboard in a V7 case (yes they can be interchanged).
maybe he did a typo.... who knows... i got 39004 and i had 30004 thats v7 and v4... so how come it's a v4 if thats aint a typo...
