i have an nec nd 3520a writer but am not able to adjust the writing settings anywhere on nero express or dvd shrink. please help
When you go into Shrink and hit the backup tab for your disk a box will come up, go to burn settings tab and as long as you have burn with Nero checked you will be able to set the speed for your drive. In Nero Express when you hit your burn button a screen should come up that asks about your drive, and the speed setting should be on that screen.
lydanial: this looks like a similary posting you made in another thread. Please clarify your problem: is it that you do not know how to set the burn speed; if so then arniebear gave some good adice. Or, is your problem that you set the burn speed say at 8x, and your burner will only burn at 2x. If that is the problem, check your DMA as probably it is stuck in PIO.
i dont know what dma is but i looked at the nero info tool and both drives say dma on. however i have just uninstalled and reinstalled nero and shrink and can now seem to adjust the settings.. i understand that you can change it after hitting burn and it would do it on a cd-r but when on a dvd-r it would be blanked at with 2.4 as the write speed. i dont know if this will screw up[ again after using shrink or actually burning something so only time will tell. thanks lydanial
