Hi. I am trying to burn Next Friday, but the computer isn't letting me because its protected. I tried using dvd shrink, dvd decryptor, handbrake, windows dvd maker, trail version dvd fab. and yet none can because it has like a encrypted protection or something. Does anyone have some ideas? Oh I have the dvd its not an itunes movie.

This movie was released June 1, 2004.
Give the disc and your laser lens a real good cleaning. If it still fails, you have a bad disc.

I had no problem doing this movie with dvdfab. It was fairly simple. What happened when you used dvdfab? Need more info to help you out.

well i dont have the original version, but the like trail version. so like it will analyze and the start the burning process, but it gets to a point and fails because of the copy right protection it says. i know it was released such a long time ago that's why i dont understand why its so difficult.

It's not burning anything. It's ripping the files to your HDD. What file is it getting stuck on?

Okay, let's go over some basic terminology to help us better understand where your problem is occurring.

Ripping - Reading information from a disc and copying it to your Hard Disk Drive.

Burning - Taking files from your PC and writing them to a disc via a burner optical disk drive.

(these definitions are from 7th's official dictionary)

It sounds like you're having trouble ripping the movie from the disc. Follow the sagely advice Dialysis gave in his first response. Clean the disc well, wiping from the center of the disc out to the edge; not in circles around the disc. Make sure your lens is clean.

Please post as much information as you can about when/where the error occurs.

I think this thread should have been posted in the newbie forum.
You clean your laser lens with a laser lens cleaning disc. They're not just for the pc. You use them on your standalone as well.

Then you understand that there is no copy protection from 2004 that today's ripping programs cannot handle.

    ^LOL^

You could always just keep your original copy and not back it up...

    Just a thought!

    Cheers!!

You mean to tell me that you can't find a good burn program posted thousands of times in these forums? If you can't find the answer to that question here in the forum... let alone this thread, you probably should give up trying.

In addition to Studs advice (bro, I know you are holding your tongue) it's not cool to hijack someone elses thread. But, I will be nice and give you some advice.
