I can't change my drives booktype to dvd-rom will it still work?

    i have an btc/emprex burner i can't change the booktype it keeps saying illegal mode for this track so will it work i just burn it normally?

    I've never used booktyping and never had a problem, just remember to set the layer break

    Booktyping is not something that you have to do. It just helps burn the discs in the most compatible format. But if done correctly they should all still work without booktyping.

    That drive doesn't support booktyping/bitsetting.

    lol, booktyping was back in the day, now you just click burn.

    correct, any drive bought in about the last year or year and a half will do this automatically.

    I had the same drive a few years ago and it doesn't support bitsetting.

    EDIT:

    You'd better check your sources again.
