    @Dr_ml422
    **a little OT**
    Maybe it's just the difference in how we look at things, but i'm typically thrilled to get a new update to Fab Platinum. It means something (typically) is improved. Granted, i rarely use the Mobile option either, but an improvement is an improvement.

    The fact that Fab updates regularly to continue improving and continue to keep up with new encryptions is part of the reason i finally decided to purchase Platinum. I rode the freeware train for years. (which makes me laugh at people who feel it necessary to hit up torrent sites for dvdfab)

    This thread has gotten huge. People are poppin' up like whack-a-mole. :D

    I agree totally as does others as well. I have a thread on this. Don't know if you stopped by, but most feel the same way in regards to the Mobile Option being integrated. Have no problem w/Plat DVD being updated when something like TDK comes along, but that Mobile option requires way more looking into and other software to make it run right. Hence more updates to the whole thing. No biggie in the scheme of things, but I think I'm going to get Gold strictly for DVDs as I already have Platw/the Mobile option. It's a little cheaper but still does the job. I just need to hear back from Fab and make sure it doesn't come bundled w/the Mobile Option as well. Their free trial includes everything so that threw me off a bit.

    Excuse if OT. Not as bad as post about torrent Fab though. Lol...

    I am going back to my original statement : To each is own, and just make sure your decryption software is up to date. avydvd ver 6.4.9 and the newest fab product work great with this title. I ve tried them both. I thought i was up to date but I was not. checked with the forum and found i was not up to the correct version. Downloaded the new version and poof no more problems. Thanks again to the posters on this forum. This site is a treasure trove of information. And it has really progressed since iwas here back in 2000. I remember when it was a lot harder and a lot rarer to back up. anyone remember a program called xcopy and xcopy platinum ?

    Again, lol, this is unbelieable, I can understand if the people don't have the bucks, of course you use the freebies, I have seen several posts here how step by step do it with the freebies.

    I would love to say, if you have the bucks, get clone and anydvd and save yourself all the problems for good, but I also read that people with clone & anydvd are also having problems, that I can't figure out, like I said maybe I was just lucky, or maybe some pc's aren't set right like I read about one fellow, who know's.

    I've burned Knight 3 different ways, I use ty's and Verb's never over 8x, and it's always R+, and that's just a preverance.

    And last I have seen alkohol post with pic's step by step, (freebies), when this guy tells you this is the way to go believe me its the way to go, and even though I am not a geek, far from it, if you can't do it his way I am just using common sense that your cause is something off with your software setting or even the pc settings, you might be using crap blank media, who knows, but I sure as hell don't think it's the instructions problem. Anyway, Good Luck.

    Couldn't agree more, Fredbun! This is easy task when you got the right updated tools. Also a good reason to have a large arsenal of tools, since some don't update so often. JM2C

    Lol. Looks like I got the challenge I wanted. Perhaps slysoft acquiesced to my need lol. TDK, Piece of cake. Lost S4D3..... gonna try fab here in a sec. It crashed anydvd. Well... didnt need to. Restarting anydvd did it! Perhaps there was a bug in the program/Ram. Refreshing seemed to do the trick. WEIRD!!! May have had something to do with Multirip.

    denaliart, oh boy, do I remember x-copy, it came out years ago and of course the goverment (USA) shut them down, sure by todays software they would be a little outdated, but not if they stayed alive.

    The guy that created it I believe was the first one to be able to copy movies, hell they were selling xcopy software already applied with store bought pc's, and thier tech support was second to none, it's when I knew absolutly nothing about pc's, and they had phone tech support, and no they did not outsource anything, all thier people were from near Boston Mass. USA, and all spoke English, when I first got it a guy stayed on the phone with me almost two hours explaining everything, not only how to run the program but how to run my pc properly, cause I was REALLY PC STUPID than, and not all that much smarter now except I did learn a lot just reading different forums and having questions answered on AD.

    In todays standards, and I have used several, Slysoft IMHO would have been second to them, of course slysoft does not have phone support but than I do not know anybody that does, and I will tell you this, if they did stay alive Knight would have been done with one click. Rest in Peace X-Copy.

    @Fred

    One thing you failed to mention was there was no update to Xcopy while I was using it. And the copy protection was in it's infancy. Yes I too was dumb as a hammer back then. In today's time tho I would expect Fab and AnyDVD would be on equal or better footing. I could not get anything but XCopyXpress to work for me with XCopyGold all the time.

    I know this is a lil off topic but up until a couple weeks ago I was still using xcopy platinum. And I had dvd43 running as a decrypter . The last machine I had it running on was a pent 4 single core.... lol. Now Im running quad 2.67. and have a sata dvd drive. It was backing up copies for me in minutes and it was just a couple of clicks. But as soon as I got internet access it wouldnt load anymore. So I started looking into new software . I used xcopy to do hancock. no prob. I wish i could figure out what happend to xcopy I liked that software. My point is this though... Here was almost a ten year old program implemented w new hardware w no issues (so to speak). Anyone know if there is anything like that software out there? as far one click copies? I mean for nubes it was great and back then I was a shiney new nube. Something like that might be handy for some of the nubes out there now. I m happy with the solutions I have now , but I sure there are people who could benefit from software like that.

    Oh yeah I agree garmoon, when they first came out nobody really needed updates, the movie moguls did not get thier claws into them till later so nobody was throwing in crap at our dvd's like now.

    By the time the moguls did figure out how to throw that crap at us X-copy from 321 Studios was already in trouble, so yes people that bought it did get screwed later, they were not allowed to update thier software etc. as soon as they got served, I remember reading a copy of it a friend of mine sent me, what a shame cause those people were on the ball, oh well, nuff said for me after all this is a Knight thread so I'll shut up after this post before I get hollered at.

    If you use Dvd Rebuilder, you don't need to use Dvd Shrink.

    I just installed dvd rebuilder and havent had the chance to get to know the program yet. But it was recommended by a senior member. so I installed it. I kept dvd shrink cause I know the program and it easy. Man I feel nubish today. I dont want anymore coasters. The only thing I can think of is that there is a conflict between the 2 programs.... cause thats the only thing thats different is I installed dvdrebuilder. Unless I used the wrong original dvd9 sized file... hmmm Im gonna check on that now.

    It's ok to feel like a newbie, hell I feel that way with some of these tools that I seldom use. It's when you never feel like a newbie-meaning you THINK you know it all- that's when the trouble starts. To learn, you have to ask questions-and sometimes stupid ones, we all did at one time. But when the aha! light bulb comes on, it's so nice.
