Well, actually....I have "WANTED" 12/02/2008(single disc)...Backed up no problem. I have "TRAITOR" 12/19/2008 Backed up no problem. I say this cause these 2 titles have no aggresive encryptions. While The Dark Knight has had the worst of any title I've seen recently..i.e. DMWT/ZOHAN. HANCOCK,STEP BROTHERS, NARNIA II, have more of the typical aggressive encryption. Again nothing like "The Dark Knight" though.
Forgive me for being off topic, but how did you back up Narnia 2 ? I wish to know as I'm waiting to purchase the dvd for my Hayley : )
@bryston Some countries release their DVDs earlier than the US. Others own video stores or work there-they get movies a week earlier-, and yet others are doing the employees of the video store.
The visible defect is on the disc? What does it look like? Describe such. Or better yet take a pic and show us.
Sadly, i have not been ablt to acquire an early copy of this one early. However, this has certainly sparked my interest in picking it up as soon as i can.

@garmoon, but did you notice your back up is encrypted. This is what I was referring to. Disable AnyDVD and attempt to make a 2nd back up using the back up disc referenced in your post using either NERO or CloneDVD.
@N@DVD where does it say my copy is encrypted. It says it's NOT CSS protected. I'll burn a copy from a copy just using Nero express nothing else.
@N2DVD I just finished watching the original backup I made and came in here and read your post. Copy played flawlessly (movie only). I posted above and then took the copy w/o anydvd running put it my second drive and put a blank (office depot-ricohjpn) in my burner drive.I opened Nero Expresse and copied the copy in 6 min on the fly @ X16. No copy protection is on the first copy. Second disc plays fine thru chapters and anydvd reads the copy2 same as it reads copy1. Last week's anydvd version was the one I used originally. I'll try and see if Fab plat will rip real disc. Sure it will. EDIT: I just finished ripping it with DVD Fab plat no problem!!
I just got through ripping a NTSC advance disk I was handed earlier.. I don't see anything special at all k9copy straight off the bat full disk.
CHINGON!!!!, MUCHAS GRACIAS N2DVD, BUEN APORTE. IT REALLY WORKS WITH NERO AND ANYDVD!!!!!!! THANKS N2DVD!!!!!!!!! REGARDS FROM MEXICO, C U.
Yes.. US import NTSC which I now need to rip just the film from to convert to pal. Could people be having problems because of damage/faulty manufacturing.. I saw something about possible bad sectors in one of the disk scans.
@varnull...Naw that's another animal no bad press here? This is the latest in raw new encryption. I've seen Dark Knight movie files online movie only stuff and the source of these files I could only guess. I'm talking the actual available @ retail store 12/09/2008 US widescreen disc. Hey, If you had an easy go @ this title please post an AnyDVD or DVDFAB status log so we all could see what your working with and what region. I speculate that both SlySoft and the folks over at DVDFAB by this time have had a crack @ this one and have not come to a speedy resolution yet. This titles encryption takes on viral like characteristics freezing crashing accessed decryption software slowing down your PC while waiting to close your now error prompting, crashed decryption software of choice. It's not hype this is a tough title with no movie only circumventing either so far. My experience has been disc to disc to DL 8.5 media with encryption in tow only. Hats off to the authoring team behind this DVD's release.
Believe it or not I used an old freeware version of DVDFAB 4.1.2.0 I used this to ripp the disc to file. I then backed up this file to DVD blank media. Plays fine...but disc starts @ disney previews. So I used the back up disc to create a new rip file with another outdated but reliable ripp software RIPIT4ME (last known version). I select this programs more reliable start title from 1st available menu option, I now have a decrypted back up disc that starts from the main menu. I used latest edition OF CloneDVD to burn corrected file to disc.
Dark Knight... Lucky lucky lucky. I gotta wait 2weeks here in the states. I didnt have problems with hancock. I would love to take a stab, and contribute to the community, but... I imagine in 2 weeks, im sure the fox'll get through it.
In Mexico this release is available only to small local video clubs, not yet at Blockbuster, the one nearby my home only has 4 copies and I have not been able to get ahold of one...hope to get it soon and see what can I do to rip it.... regards, X
I'm back. First I borrowed The Dark Knight from a friend and I wasn't able to make a copy. It damage my burner, maybe because i froze the computer and the DVD Burner was running for a while, any way the DVD Burner it can't read a movie or burn it. So I bought a new DVD Burner and I bought a copy of the Dark Knight for $30.00, I bought it just for curiosity in case there was something wrong with the other one. With this one I have the same problem. AnyDVD see it this way: Summary for drive F: (AnyDVD 6.4.8.5) PIONEER DVD-RWDVR-112D 1.21 07/04/19PIONEER Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!) Media is a DVD.
