I have a problem which i don't know how to fix, after using DVD Decrypter (or DVDFab Decrypter) and DVD Shrink, the resulting DVD can't play on neither my standalone player nor my PC.

This message appears on blue screen: "This player is incompatible with the region marking on this disc" blocking completely the disc from playing.

What bothers me is that no problem is apparent when using the programs mentioned earlier, so all looks right until you try to play it (even if you have it backup in the hard disc)

Anybody knows how to fix this problem? any help will be appreciated, thanks.

I have using Sony DVD Media, which i have checked previously as good media... but the problem is not the media, is actually the DVD i'm attemping to decrypt, which is good condition; what happens is that after i runned it with DVD Decrypter and have the backup in my Hard Disc, the error is present and will not play on my PC with Power DVD neither on my standalone player; i don't know if has some kind of rare protection, since this DVD is at least 5 years old... can you help me?

    hmmm weird

is it a pal or ntsc? or it maybe a region code your dvd player will not play .

do this download and run anydvd with dvd decrypter ,this is how

To use DVD Decrypter in conjunction with AnyDVD as stated per Olli ->OF SLYSOFT AND CLONEDVD

Proceed to the DVD Decrypter Opening Page - Tools - Settings

I/O Tab - Click on "Elby CDIO-Elaborate Bytes"

General Tab - un-check "Check For Structure Protection"

or you can use CloneDVD 2 with anydvd that should work and burn at 4x max.

anydvd makes your backups region free thats sound like your problem

heres a guide to use the program

First of all, the DVD disc i want to backup, my standalone player and my PC's DVD ROM, are NTSC Region 4 (with a few exceptions, all or my DVDs are NTSC Region 4) and i never had any problems, but this is the first time i have a situation like this.

I use DVD Decrypter (or DVDFab Decrypter if necesarry) first to decrypt the DVDs on my HD, then DVD Shrink to recompress them, and finally Nero Express to burn the backups... i haven't used CloneDVD before, but from what i have observed in reviews, does exactly the same as DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink (which seem to be better than CloneDVD)

How safe is it to use AnyDVD? i'm interested since i have a dosen of NTSC Region 1 DVDs, but i ignore if will play these DVDs, without any risk on my PC's DVD ROM, or if DVD Decrypter (or DVDFab Decrypter) can actually decrypt these NTSC Region 1 DVDs to the HD, with no need to have AnyDVD, nor chanching the Region Code 4 of my DVD ROM.

Because i previously used Region Free + CSS (which apparently does the same as AnyDVD) and it screwd up my DVD ROM after using it with a couple of NTSC Region 1 DVDs (as a result it didn't play DVDs at all and had to replace it) so i'm hesitant about using AnyDVD, since i don't want it to screw up my new DVD ROM.

Finally, i read a 5 year old article, that a few DVDs have a rare protection, where some VOBs couldn't be decrypted, such like Stigmata... and from the descryption of that situation, looks like this is my case, but i would assume that by now there should be some way to fix this.

Could anybody please help me? please?

    @ematrix

This is an excellent program that will resolve the majority of your issues. I highly recommend it. Check out the guide for it in my signature. It will explain all the settings that you can use and how to set them up.

Worth the money. This should help you.

    SUCCESS!!!

I tried the combination AnyDVD in the background, DVD Decrypter in File Mode to decrypt and copy the full DVD into the HD, then DVD Shrink for recompress and Nero Express to burn DVD.

Not only i was able to finally decrypt, recompress and burn the DVD which was giving this unusual problem, but also tried this method successfully with some region 1 DVD without changing the regional code of my PC's DVD ROM (which currently is set on region 4)

Indeed AnyDVD is a great addition to your arsenal, but my only concern is how safe is to use it... as i explained previously i had a really bad experience with a similar program (DVD Region Free + CSS) which in a short period of time ruined my DVD ROM, and i don't want to face such situation again...

Therefore, could you all how read this, please share how long have you been using Any DVD and if has been to use it on your PCs...

If so, have you experienced any reading problems in your PC's DVD ROM, after using AnyDVD for a determined period of time, or number of DVDs played/read?

And does anybody know what is different from Region Free + CSS to AnyDVD, they might be similar but perhaps one forces the DVD ROM to read more than the other.

dvd regionfree and anydvd are similar yes BUT in no way shape or form will anydvd cause you problems MANY in here use it and noone ever reports a problem like that. i been using it also two years NO PROBLEMS at all.

make sure you delete regionfree from your system complety folders and all.

anydvd is the anwser to the region problem you were having glad it worked you might try using CloneDVD 2 with anydvd next time then you wont have to use three programs to backup your dvds CloneDVD 2 encodes, shrinks and burns the dvd so thats really all you need with running anydvd in the background with it and use the guide in my earier post to use it.

so bottom line anydvd is VERY safe to use

I have been using AnyDVD on Three Machines for almost 2 years without any issues
You dont have to use Decrypter to rip with just start AnyDVD and open up Shrink
    Thats it
They update it all the time for new protections so your good to go
I havent found a Movie yet that I couldnt backup with this program running in the backround and it works Great with CloneDVD 2
    :)

I appreciate the advice as to use AnyDVD with CloneDVD or DVD Shrink only, but i still preffer to use DVD Decrypter as to minimize the reading time, heat exposure and strain on both the DVD disc and player, since DVD Decrypter takes up to 10-20 minutes to read and copy a DVD, CloneDVD or DVD Shrink will take at least twice that time.

I suppose if you are burning to DL media you can get away with just using DVDdecrypter in ISO read and ISO write.

If, however, you need to compress to a DVD5 you will need to use a program that compresses the video such as DVDShrink or CloneDVD2. Most at this forum are thinking in terms of compressing to DVD5 as DL media is still very expensive, therefore the recommendation to use AnyDVD in conjunction with Shrink or Clone.

I use a small fan in front of my system to assist in reducing the heat while using Shrink (as it is cpu intensive and produces lots of heat). The fan trick keeps her real cool :) Just a trick of the trade that I picked up.

    Anyway, good luck burning.

That's what i have been doing, first DVD Decrypter to decrypt and save the DVD in the HD (now with the assistance of AnyDVD in the background) then DVD Shrink to recompress and finally Nero to burn... i know that you will say that i don't need to use DVD Decrypter, if i can do it with just AnyDVD and DVD Shrink/CloneDVD, but i just preffer it this way... i also put a fan to cool down the PC while working, but is never hurts to be carefull, that's why i use DVD Decrypter as to minimize the reading time, heat exposure and strain on both the DVD disc and player, i simply preffer it this way.

I learned the fan trick the hard way. Burned a motherboard up. Don't want to do that again.

    Cheers.
