This is really ticking me off a bit, because I'm not doing anything remotely close to violating copyrights

I recorded a bunch of clips on a DVD+r using a panasonic dvd recorder DMR-ES16. I was planning to extract the DVD on tmpgenc wizard to place the clips in order and edit everything, etc, but now there's no way to open it at all.

I used dvd decrypter to make an ISO, but when I try to open that ISo with dvdshrink it tells me there's an "invalid dvd navigation structure." I get the same kind of problem when I try to put it on tmpgenc, and I also get the same problem no matter in what way I try to extract the DVD. It's like if the vob files themselves have copy-protection on them, which is ludicrous. In short, none of my programs work. Is there any kind of way I can reauthor that DVD to make something I can work with?

    Thanks

those programs will not edit ISOs..... you need to rip the files from the DVD in File mode! Do not make ISO! then you will be able to reauthor your disk in Shrink or tmpgenc.

ISO is a file that contains full content of the disc, including every single track, directory, file and information about the structure of the disc (i.e. ISO files can't be used as they are, but they need to be either "mounted" with tools like Daemon Tools or burned to CD or DVD in order to see what files the disc image actually contains). Normally ISO files are being used to replicate existing CD/DVD discs, transfer those discs over the network to other location (or to other person) and burn back to CD/DVD which then would be an identical replica of the original disc. So you can't edit the ISO!!!!!

Shrink can read ISO file. FILE/OPEN DISC IMMAGE.
If it cannot read, than there is some other problem.
Did you finalize disc in your recorder before extracting files?
You do not need ripper to read your files from recorder since they are already DVD files. Just copy them, but finalizing will make them readable with other players.

That is what I did, and the ISO won't open with disc image.

I do indeed finalize the disc in the recorder and it plays very well on any DVD player.

When I extract the files with DVD decrypter to get the vob files and the ifo files (which can usually be opened as a folder with dvd shrink and tmpgenc for my other dvds) they can't be loaded at all. Its as if the DVD and everything on it is corrupted although it plays well no matter what dvd player I test it with. It has to be some kind of copy-protection.

dvd shrink opens video-ts files not files from standalone video-ts with VR format in there aswell...

or take each vobset only from each episode and place in separate folders, then use ifoedit "create ifo" to make a set of ifo/bup files in each folder, this makes each ep separate clips or video-ts etc. which will load to dvd shrink, or whatever app...

ifoedit tiny free easy app, (keep destination folder same as source vob - each time) known bug but kool.
