    Hi Xnitro67

Congrats on removing virtumundo. It is a tough job, and one that many cannot finish.

However, please note that removing Virtumundo is not as easy as just simply removing one or two files. Hidden changes, settings, and references will all still be there. For example, virtumundo may have made settings for itself to startup, and when those settings are still there but the files are not, your startup time could get a little slower.

Also, prevention is as important as cure. How did you get infected by virtumundo? If you manage to block that entrance, you might be safe from virtumundo for your whole life. Here are a few tips as to how:

Vundo and Virtumundo both take advantage of exploits in outdated versions of java. Updating your java is a great way of defense.

Good antimalware are always needed. Antivir and Superantispyware are my recommendation, whether you want them paid or free, as they surpass most in detection and speed. Make sure to scan every file you download before opening them.

A secure browsing experience is the best browsing experience. Make sure your browser is always fully updated, and if you want, editing your hosts file to block the bad sites is always good as well. MVPS is a free way to do that.

These are just the basics on how to block virtumundo and most other malware. There are other ways as well, such as firewalls, HIPS, etc etc. Read about them if you want, and apply it accordingly.

    Best Regards :D

    Hi Xnitro67.

Panda is a security product which i do not recommend at all. I would rather you download the free version of Antivir, which has the best detection/heuristics, low on consumption of memory, and is free!

    Best Regards :D
