I got one movie from the net.
It has files with .000 , .001............ .049 format. I tried to join the files and turned it into .avi. My computer hung up. Does anybody have any idea how do I get the files to open.

    Thanks in advance

On this page http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=000 I found many possibilities (ARJ, oher multiple archives, Isobuster CD/DVD image container [which it could be]...).
It might hely you opening Total Commander, click the [F3 - View] buton on the file and view the first line.
Usually, the first lines on any file show something about the format:

    - ÿØÿà [bold]JFIF[/bold] ,, ÿÛ C ... for a .JPG
    - %[bold]PDF[/bold]-1.2 ... for a .PDF
    - [bold]PK[/bold] !1... for a .ZIP
    - [bold]Rar![/bold] Ï?s ... for a .RAR
    - [bold]ÐÏ[/bold]ࡱá for many Microsoft Office Documents (.DOC , .XLS, .PPT, not an Access' .MDB one)

I'm afraid, unless you can contact the guy that made it, that you'll have to try different Isobuster + archiving applications....
