    Hello ,Please HELP.
I have a TOSHIBA L10 Laptop running Windows XP which I use for the internet, (wireless with Wanadoo(Now Orange)Wireless & Talk on Broard Band.) whilst half watching TV.
I also Have My desk top and my daughters Laptop connected Wirelessly to the same system which have been and are Fine.
I Got a (WARNING YOU HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH A VIRUS something or other TROJAN somthing or other) Im a simpleton and know nothing about these things except that virus's ARE BAD. So I PANICKED and did a Format/Reinstall from the Toshiba Recovery DVD.I think i set up the wireless connection Exactly as i did before when it was working But Now I cant use the toshiba built in wireless.Windows finds no problems with it and says it is working properly-The signal strength is Excellent-It gets as far as ACQUIREING NETWORK ADDRESS
And thats as for as it gets.I have put the Wanadoo WEP KEY in correctly But the laptop still cant acquire a network address.(If I Use the wireless USB adapter from my desk top The laptop will connect Ok)
.1. Could this problem be because of the Virus/Trojan Thing.
    2. Reguardless of the cause of this problem Can Someone Please HELP me Fix It.

OK so Im A DUMB Ass.
I got it fixed, I wont say how because I feel stupid as it is and all you clever dicks probably know what was wrong anyway.
    Sorry for waisting anyones time.
Thanks anyway ZARIN The DUMB Ass.

By the way does formating the hard drive get rid of all viruses every time or is there some that can linger on ? (I know "Its a dumb ass question" - "BUT I AM A DUMB ASS")Z.

Formatting was not the best choice. You should have tried ridding it by other means first.

To anwser your question, no, formatting does not give you the 100% guarantee that is is gone. But, nothing is 100%.

Most likely you have gotten rid of the problem but, if problems should arise don't format again. Try searching or asking for a solution.

By the way, no questions are "dumb ass" questions if you do not know the anwser.

You have nothing to worry about if you reformatted but it wasn't the best option . Go to meesage boards and look for hellp first
