I went home yesterday and I found my kids messed up my ps2. When I turn it on, it seems go to initial setup screen. At the booting it goes to language selection screen and controller button seems not response. I opened it up and checked magic3 wires and try to boot some game by inserting cd when ps2 is fliped.. somehow after that, I hear something not right pitched booting sounds and I ended up by dead ps2. It seems ps2 only shows power lit on and eject button is not working and no disk spinning sound at all when I turned it on, it only shows black screen... Time to buy new one ?
I have the exact same problem, I have yet to fix it. I am looking for a CD repair shop in town that will fix PS2.
