My computer is less than a month old. A few weeks ago i was able to burn dvd's with no problem what so ever. I tried to burn one the other day and i end up with an error. I've tried everything i can think of to get it to work, and i'm searched all over the internet and have had no luck. I cant even burn a dvd i had no problems buring a few weeks ago. I also spent many hours online with the tech support and they were no help. Here is the error i get... To start with your version of Nero is way behind, its now 6.6.0.18 so go to http://www.nero.com and update. This is probably not the cause but you need to update, also your available memory is low, turn off all unnecessary progs and dont multitask

I have looked every where online to try to find a place to update the firmware, but i cant find it. I'm really new to this whole dvd burning thing.
I tried to find a f/w update for your drive too and couldn't find it. I'll keep looking. In the meantime update your nero. Do not install or update INCD packet 3. You can update it by opening nero and then click on NERO in the upper left hand corner then click on the green circle on the right side under programs.
You're welcome and good luck. Edit: see if they can direct you to a firmware page or website for that model of drive. You will most likely need to update your f/w several times in the future as more media becomes available.
Here's something funny, I was searching for your f/w and I see you have posted at CDfreaks as well. I've read ALOT of 'bad' Nero logs w/ Ritek disk in the last week or so, try using diff media, I recommen Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Sony and Maxell are fine so long as they are Made in japan. You've tried 8x, you've tried 2.4x now try 4x which is the general consensus. W/ new, better(???) of course.
