i tried following the guide on this site but it wont work with the codec decoder. im pretty new at this bitto$%%$^rent thing. please somone point me in the right direction.
Edited due to inaccuracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd-r_tools/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm I dont utilise copytodvd rather i prefer to just encode with this program and then use nero recode to do the burning section.I havent had any problems doing it this way and cant see you having a prob either.
XviD is not a form of avi. XviD is purely an MPEG-4 video codec which in itself has nothing to do with avi. The fact that many people use XviD in an avi container is a different matter. xvid-imbt is not the extension. It probably is .avi, but the fact that something is XviD doesn't mean that it has to be avi. You never said you were trying to convert to DVD or what though.
@ celtic_d: your right but he didnt say much at all.I have downloaded files similar to his with this extension and vso divx to dvd doesnt have a problem reading the files then encoding them.I have taken it from my experience but at the end of the day you are right
