I did a search for your model at Kenwood.com, and came up with nothing. I'm taking it for granted that it's a Dolby Digital receiver? It's a 5.1 receiver, and not just a Pro Logic receiver, right?

Is this with DVDs? Music and regular tv, will have to be setup for Pro Logic, to hear anything from rear speakers. You may also need to go into the receiver's setup menus, and adjust the speaker levels up some. Not familiar with Kenwoods, so you may need to enable the rear speakers also.

If it's with DVDs, you may need to go into the dvd player's setup menus, and turn on digital output. Set it to "Bitstream" or "Raw", instead of PCM. Are you using digital coax or optical cable, for your audio from dvd player?

Hmm i think its a reciever, becasue it only has inputs for left and right audio but it still has surround sound. Anyways i fixed it, but the sound is really cruddy, i mean really cruddy, staticky and very hard to hear. im guessing thats where the options that u mentioned earlier come in play?

If you're getting static, there's a problem somewhere, and I don't know what to tell you.

I also don't understand how it's surround, with just stereo inputs, unless it's a Dolby Pro Logic receiver. It should say on the front. If it's just Pro Logic, I promise you'll be much happier with a Dolby Digital receiver. You can get one for a little over $100. It won't have a lot of inputs, or bells and whistles, but it will be real surround.

Maybe someone else can help with the static problem.........
    Good luck!
