When I try to send files to the music player an error message pops up and says that the file cannot be sent because of an I/O device error. ??? Please help, thanks.
Assuming you're on Windows XP and that this is a USB device: First, try installing any drivers that came with your devices. Watch that they don't try to connect to the internet - a lot of this freebie crap is spyware. Do not install crap like MusicMatch, etc. - only the basic drivers. If that doesn't work or isn't an option, try reinstalling your motherboard or computer's "Chipset drivers", if available. And if that doesn't work or isn't an option, click Start->Control Panel-Performance and Maintenance->System->Hardware->Device Manager. Expand the items onder Universal Serial Bus Controllers or similar and look to see if anything has a Yellow question mark or exclamation next to it. If so, click each one that has the yellow, right-click and select Properties and try updating the drivers. See if USB drivers can with the CD for your computer/motherboard. Make sure your MP3 player and any other USB equipment is not connected when doing this.
