    i have a good comp p4 2.4 1g ram win xp pro svp2 200hdd

i have good hardware sony dr820a dvd, nvidia 256 of some sort, net gear router, netgear wireless card, broadband internet

ihave good software nero 6.6 i believe, mozilla(browser), avast(virus), kerio(firewall),limewire, utorrent, deep burner, dvd decrypter, dvd shrink, win avi video converter, regcure and registry mechanic.

now i recently scrapped a 10gb hard disk and fixed up the 200hdd with everything i need .before i got utorrent i had to reset my router cause i forgot the password and before that i was buring dvds with dvd shrink and it was taking 11 to 15 minutes dvd to dvd since doing the router for utorrent i got some more software and stuff. now its taking 130 to 205 minutes and i have downloaded 4 programs for converting various files to dvd and everyone of those programs crash my computer. i have a good paging file i have 1gb ram i have 2 programs for fixing registry problems full versions i have been to housecall.trendmicro.com to check for viruses and it only came up with 3 problem cookies and 1 adware which i got rid of and im dumb founded on what to do next the computer runs fine in everything except burning and converting i have no idea what to do please help

as regard to your burning problem your burner may be in PIO mode it should be DMA that will cause very slow burning open up device manager and delete the seconday IDE controller then reboot computer windows will reinstall controller and burner will go into DMA mode and your burning speed will increase

i did what you told me and it worked good it took dvdshrink times from 137-205 minutes to 25 minutes which is really good but i still wonder why it hasnt gone back to the 11- 15 minute timeline it was on in the first place i also have no idea why my comp keeps crashing in the converting of files after about five minutes.

the 11-15 min time you had before it depends on the size of the dvd you are trying to copy the larger the file the longer it will take why your computer crashes i do not know it could be caused by one of the programs you downloaded i would deleate them then reinstall one at time try that program if computer works the you know that program is not the problem then go to next program if computer crashes then you know what the problem is
