I am no certified expert- but I can tell you that from my experience- three years ago-when I was still unknowledgable about malware and spyware- I used about 4 different malware and virus removal programs.
Three were freeware- and I bought Spyware Doctor.Zone Alarm has a free product- and to get the deluxe edition-you have to buy etc.
I highly recommend AVG- also free unless you want the high end version.(not a bad idea to have a firewall-esp if you continue to use Internet Explorer)
Start by running these freeware programs to see what bugs are present.
Also- when I stopped using Internet Explorer and started to use Mozilla Firefox(which is an awesome free browser-with an awesome community for support)my trojan attacks malware infections etc- vanished.
That is the best that I can offer-best of luck!

There are some slick dudes out there finding new ways to infiltrate and cause us all havoc.Personally I think they should serve time in jail!

    O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [status] present

    O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap41a\std.txt
    -------------------------------
