i have question about windows vista 64

    well i was using windows XP 32bit, and my computer hdd has died out, and im gonna have to load up a new OS

    Id like to upgrade to vista 64, but im not sure if i have a computer that can handle 64 bit.

    wondering if someone that knows about this stuff could help me. My computer is like this --

    Dell Dimension 9100 series.
    2.8 ghz Pentinum D 820 Smithfield
    socket 775 LGA
    intels i945 chipset
    2gb ddr2 ram pc2-4300(266mhz)
    Sb 24 Live sound card
    gefore 8600 grafix card

    Your processor is a 64bit processor so you can run Vista 64 on it.
    I'd just like to point out, not sure how it is with Vista 64, but with XP64, driver support is repugnant to say the least (it's very hard to find drivers for not even year old hardware like printers and web cams).

    Furthermore, since have less than 4GB or RAM, there is no real benefit that Vista64 will provide over Vista32.
