    Hey

For a reason unknown to me, i have recently lost the sound to all of the Mpeg, quicktime and avi video files on my computer. I tried playing the files on different programs and that didn't work, and I tried them on different computers and they did.

I downloaded the DIVX 5 codec bundle to try and solve the problem, and when that failed I reinstalled the many codecs I have previously downloaded which I realise was probably a bad idea. I have now removed as many codecs as I can using the Windows add/remove programs, and am at a loss as to what to try next.

If anyone has any ideas they would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hey

I have now managed to fix the mpeg mov and most avi files, so now it's hust a matter of finding another codec for the avi files which still have no sound.

    Thanks anyway

Your AVI files that "don't have sound" require Audiofilters AC3 package -- download it from doom9's software area.

Thanks a lot - that seems to have fixed it
