i have the connection but can't ftp(i know because i can browse with qwix)

i have evox dash off hdd
i got the evox dash off kyizer's softmod NDURE v1
i have a stable connection though the pc and xbox because i used qwix and it said i was connected and i could broswe my files but quix dosen't let u transfer files
so when i put the exact same thing in flash fpx and cute ftp professinal but i get a connection failed
so wut i need for u pros at this is what do i change in the settings of the ftp clients to ftp to my xbox

are you going through a router or direct connection(cross-over cable)?
turn all of your firewalls off if u have any on...
