Ok first off, how does one get banned? Am I safe if I don't play backup games online but do play real games online? Or has it something to do with MS seeing my drive is flashed? Secondly, the game i burnt was a pre packed ISO and burnt fine with my DVD DL player in my Laptop. But I want to backup my own games so would this do the job http://www.adverts.ie/198993/hardwa...eon-firmware-drive-xbox-360/page-2/#poststart He claims to have flashed it with Kreon already but I'm going to do it myself just in case. Re-flashing (if it really is already done) is ok isn't it? That's all I can think of at the moment, I appreciate any help.
1. Playing backups is how one gets their console banned. You're never 100% safe with a flashed drive on live. Everyone has opinions about how microsoft bans consoles, and nobody knows for sure (except M$). Best advice I could give you is to grab a cheap 360 off of ebay and use it to play your retails on live. As long as you don't have modified firmware on it, you don't run the risk of the console getting banned. 2. Yes, that would do the job although it's not advised to rip with a kreon. Kreon drives can't rip the additional angles that wave 4 games and beyond have. A simple search on here will show you why you don't want to rip with a kreon (unless you download the ssv2 files and manually inject them into your iso via abgx). 3. If you're able to successfully backup a game with XBC or SCR, then the kreon firmware is already on it. I've got a kreon drive just sitting on the shelf not getting used. I ended up buying a few spare benqs from ebay and flashed them with 0800 firmware. 0800 rips the additional angles. The only downfall of having a 360 drive is getting power to it. I bought a connectivity kit and that filled the gap.
Ok thanks for the reply! So what you're saying about Kreon drives is; I can burn a new game(eg. Crackdown 2) which will write fine, then run abgx and patch the ssv2 files (http://abgx360.net/verified.php?f=pressings&q=BFD25A12) into the iso? Or something along those lines. I would use this guide http://paste2.org/p/635626 If any of the above is wrong just let me know because I might not buy the drive if I can't copy any game, even if it is a little more effort.
Rip the game with the Kreon drive to get an ISO. Find the two SSv2 files on ABGX's website. Use abgx360 to patch the ISO (using the guide you stated in the above post). Once abgx360 verifies (all green), use ImgBurn to burn to a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc.
Oh also, that guy selling the drive sold it already so what should I be looking for? I'm gonna guy on amazon or something. Would a SH-D162C or SH-D162D be better? Or maybe a completely different drive? Here's one I was looking at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-SH-...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1279202514&sr=8-1 It works out at €42 incl postage.
I'm in the US, but I had to order mine from Germany. But you seem to already be in Europe so here ya go. Vesalia.de or Scan.co.uk
is there a stickey or a discussion one the best way to backup my 360 games? I am exhausted from searching and reading. Can anyone give advice or point to a discussion topic? Yes I am a noobie to this. thanks in advance
backup or burn? for back-ups you can always resort to other means if you don't have a KREON or that means to do so. Burning is simple.
