All I want to do is be able to get the moives on to a watchable format, like Window's Media Player so that I can use them in editing programs and such. But I can't seem to find any help on how to do this.
I downloaded DVDFab and DVD Shrink but they both seem to do the same thing... They make these video_ts files that I really don't know what to do with.
So can anyone please help me out?
    Thanks a lot!

are you referring to commercial dvds? you want to convert them to .wma format? if so, i'd suggest you do a search on this site, and/or look through some of the guides posted (see "guides" tab at top of page). you could also google "convert to .wma".

Actually I need it to be .wmv
Its a DVD of the video yearbook at my school last year and I need to get some things out of it for a video I'm making, I need it by tomorrow though so I hope I can figure this out.

my mistake, of course video would be .wmv... (audio format is .wma).

what format is it in now?

then i'd suggest searching for "convert (current format) to .wmv"... there is likely software, maybe even free, that will do the conversion.

UFOM what you can use is, Magic DVD Ripper, google it and find a place to download it from. If you can't find a place tell me and I'll tell you how to get a copy. With Magic DVD Ripper you can convert your DVDs to WMV, AVI, VCD, and other types, but of course some of these formats may cause the quality to lower. Try it.
