ok so im totally new at all this satelite tv descrambler stuff and so heres my situation we got the box and dish installed, and from reading other stuff on the forum im understading that my box got scrambled this morning(NO CHannels work) so wat do should i do??? any advice
You left out all the important info. What box do you have, what sats are you aimed at and what service provider. My guess without more info is you got hit with a simple key change. Find and install the new keys should get you back up. Jerry
Hey jerry thanks for the info ok the box i got is a "captive works cw-600s premium" im hooked up with dish network but thats all i know lol sorry man i just know nothing about this stuff
Here are 3 site links that are free to join. Then find the Captive works sections and start with the newbie/getting started guides. They should have a detailed guide for setup and updates needed. The newest file download might need added to your receiver which will give you what is called auto roll. Auto roll feature will look for and find the new key numbers that change on a regular basis. There should also be a guide for adding keys manually. In some cases you may have to do that. The keys are 2 sets of letters/number with 16 digits in each set (2 total) for a total of 32 digits/letters. There are keys for DishNetwork and keys for BEV which is the sat provider in Canada. Anyway, find the setup guides and read and print out everythig needed for updating because this is an on-going situation that you need to learn how to do. I'm always on here to answer general questions but since I own a Viewsat I can only give you basic answers that apply to all receivers. Here are the 3 sites with good info.
