Windows DVD Maker, which comes with Windows Vista, automatically creates menus with snazzy animation with clips from various parts of your video, but there is no customization possibilities, choosing chapter points, etc. I have trials of Adobe Premiere Elements, CyberLink PowerDirector and Ulead VideoStudio, but could only find very simple static menus. Is there other software (<$200) that creates similar DVD menus but with more customization?
I like Windows Dvd Maker yes u need more controls but it does a great job with some nice menus. I also use ConvertXtoDVD from VSO software its fast has customizable timings for chapter stops works really fast and has all types of menu's inlcuding adding your own backgrounds. The overall quality is fantastic considering it does everything in one pass allowing it to finish faster. You can check out a free trial right here on Afterdawn but it's worth the $29 to get the paid version they currently have 20% off code on the main page here is a link http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/
How much control do you want? There are some really complicated dvd authoring tools which allow creating animated menus..chapters exactly where you say and multiple audio and subtitle tracks. a couple of freeware tools.. I don't know how good the windows versions are. http://www.dvdstyler.de/ http://download.videohelp.com/GFD/
