I know it was stupid but i put my back up files on an old tower and it crashed! I would like to restore my dash board to its original version (with out the live stuff like it was when i bought it).
does anyone know or could send me an original back up fo an older xbox.a newer game updated it........ is it possible to downgrade your dashboard if u lost the original? I can still ftp into my xbox is there a default backup M$ leaves in the hard drive? so i can rename it or something? Please help.....

I don't think you are going to be able to go back to that msdashboard that you want, because as far as I can remember the xboxdash.xbe from that dashboard was specific to individual xboxes.

you can download the MS Dash on auto installer discs, so i doubt it is specific to that Xbox.
The EEPROM is what you may be thinking about, that is.

No, I am on about the first dashboards which only had three menu items on the 1.0 xboxes.

These were individual to each console,
when ms introduced the xbox live service and provided the dashboard updates for this, then the dashboards became generic ones which where interchangeable between xbox consoles
