I currently have aphillips 8631 and dell needs to replace it it is starting to fail which drive should I ask for nec or plextor used phillips for about 3 years
NEC, most likely there going to give you one of there brew's though.....which will fail again just as soon its suggested you buy the drive yourself from tigerdirect or newegg, then install it yourself, it'll come with a warranty so no sweet if it breaks down......any drive the OEM gives you is bound to fail.... ....if you do decided to get one from dell look up the model name and version, it might actually be one that isn't f'd up with OEM nonsense lol! best of luck burning buddy! -tripplite best of luck -tripplite
