Okay, my current set up AMD Altlon X2 3800+ 3gb DDR2 ram Seagate 500GB HDD Western Digital 300GB HDD Sounding okay so far, then we come to the graphics Nvidia 5500 FX (AGP, 256MB) Yeah, it hardly plays anything well So I am getting a new one, but I'm on a budget because I have to get a new mobo that supports PCI-E. So your opinions will be greatly appreciated. I'm in the UK just to let you know if you are sending me links to cards.
I would get an agp card.... No point getting a new mobo if your are not going to get a new cpu.... Depending on your budget.... the x series cards are not the greatest the hd pros are far better than any x card. the 2600pro look s really nice with every thing ive thrown at it :>
Haha did you just say the 2600 pro is better than the X1950GT? Let me give you an example: Prey 1600x1200 X1950 GT: 27.5 FPS 2600 Pro: 12.8 FPS Hell even the X1300 beats it out! Not by much, they're about the same. The HD two thousand series was one of ATIs worst products. Good thing they made up for it by releasing the HD 3800 series.
^I second that. The 2600pro is a mid range card, for DX10 usage. The x1950 or even x1900 are way better than the pro. I think people think the higher the numbers, the better the card. This is definetly not the case, as you can compare a 8400GS to a 7800 and the 7800 would be miles away in performance.
