I need a program that will merge the files of 2 or 3 VCD's into 1 file.

I also need a program that will convert an *.avi file to a DVD. I want to write the DVD file to the hard drive, not burn it.

    Freeware if possible.

    Thanks

VOBMerge is for joining mpeg2 DVD files, but I think it will merge VCD mpeg1 types ok - just change the selection menu to 'All Files' and select the videos from the 'MPEGAV' folder, they are usually named with the .dat extension.
Make sure they are in order before joining.
Note that this only joins the video files - it does not create a new VCD file structure.

DVD Flick can convert AVI to DVD.
Check the settings using the guide.
    Burning the disk is optional.
