    Hi,
I downloaded and extracted the firmware HD-A3-1300U. But
I can not get it on disc. I have Roxio not Nero.

I select Burn Image and everytime i get a error message
    that something went wrong.

Can someone Please help me, or is there another way of doing
this, should I create a data disc or can I do it without Roxio.

    Please Help....

    Hi,
I Downloaded the new firmware double clicked it. I have Roxio not Nero.

Burn Image to disc game up. Browsed to the location. Inserted a blank fuji cd-r. And pressed burn image.

Then project running started it burned and at the end it says there was a problem writing to the disc.

It does not even give me the error message or what the problem was.

I am at a loss please help. I do not have the Toshiba yet, but i figured I would download this early.

Please Help, Help. I do not know where else to go.

    Hi ofield,

Toshiba gives you several options to update your firmware.

    1. Download the firmware and burn the iso to disc.

    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=876566

    2. Through ethernet (this is for other models, but is the same for HD-A3):

    http://tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-images/generaldocs/quicksetguide.pdf

    3. Use the enclosed card that comes with your set and mail to Toshiba, they will mail you the firmware disc.

I updated by ethernet, simple, the player shuts off when finished.

    Hope this helps.

If you have Windows XP or later, you can install the Windows 2003 Resource Kit which includes a program called "cdburn.exe", which allows you to burn .ISO images. You can download it from here.

I know it's overkill for just burning an ISO image, as there are other tools that do this as well, but I find the toolkit to offer other useful tools as well.

My advice is to wait till you get your A3, then temporarily run an Ethernet cable from wherever your internet access is, and just check every now and then for updates that way. You must have internet access if you're posting here.

I did this for about six months before I got around to running a permanent Ethernet cable to behind the entertainment center TV, with a 5 port switch so I could hook up the PS3 and Toshiba A20, primarily for FW updates.

From what I've seen, it doesn't look as if patience is one of ofield's virtues. ;)
