    Hello.

Edit out your Name and Nero serial number beginning 1A... at the beginning of your log. Click the paper/pencil icon in the upper right of your post to enter edit mode.

You're using an older version of Nero. You might want to uninstall your current version after writing down your serial number and then run the Nero 6 Clean Tool:

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

Next download and install the following two Nero 6.6.0.18 packages:

    Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
    Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Try slowing your burn speed to 8X or 6X.

I think there's a newer firmware for your burner, version 1.A4 available here:

    http://memorex.com/html/download_software_now.php?CID=11&PID=872

Try reducing your target output size to 4400mb. In DVD Shrink, under the Edit menu select Preferences... and then the Preferences tab. Select Custom from the dropdown "size" menu and then enter 4400 in the mb size box. This prevents burning all the way to the outer edge of the disk.

You might also try burning your ISO with ImgBurn:

    http://www.imgburn.com
The Roxio CDRAL driver is installed which can sometimes cause problems. You may need to uninstall any Roxio software that is installed and then run the Roxio zapper:

Hey laddyboy, thanks for the quick response. I uninstallled Nero and installed the version you told me. I followed the steps you gave me and I was able to burn the files manually. I havent tried to burn a DVD automatically using DVD shrink yet, Ill do that when I get more hard copies.

Hey, I was able to burn the files, however, the DVD is not playable. All my DVD players wont recognize it. I intalled the version of Nero I was told but what I didnt do was create a ISO file, how can I do that and what would be the next step to follow?

I might also want to add that I no longer have the hard copies of the DVDs I couldnt burn, but I do have VOB files saved in my computer and I am able to play them so I know they're OK, its the burning process that I have trouble with.

You don't have to have an ISO file. A folder of video files is fine. Whether you start with an ISO file or a folder of video files shouldn't make any difference.

Did you slow your burn speed to 4X or 8X or did you burn at 16X again? It's very difficult to get a good quality burn at 16X with most systems and media.

If you're burning at a reduced speed with the same Verbatim media, your burns should be playable by your standalone players.

Did you upgrade your burner's firmware?

If you want to try ImgBurn, use the Build mode of ImgBurn first to create an ISO file from the video folder. Then use the Write mode to burn the ISO file you created.

Hey Laddyboy, I think its working. I updated the firmware and slowed the burning speed to 4x. so far its working (33%) because it wasnt working earlier, it would start burning and stop at 2%. I gotta test tomorrow morning Ill just leave it burning and let you know later was happened..... now at 49% hope it works.
