    Hi,

I am new to the forum. I am some what new to the dvd burning world. I have been burning dvds with win avi converter and then I use dvd shrink then I use nero. I have used dvddecrypter but I also found out that I could burn with nero instead of creating iso and burn with dvd decrypter. Lately i have went to play my burned dvds that i just finished and they will not play in either of my dvd players/ I am not doing anything different. I am converting them and using dvd shrink and then nero. What could be the problem. Some of the files did say AC3 but I don't think that is it. Please help.

    Thanks Matt

    matt1231,
It might be a video standard issue. Depending on your location, make sure you're burning using NTSC standard for your DVDs if residing in the U.S., Canada and Asia. Otherwise, use PAL.
AC3 is an audio codec that is retrieved from the original file. So, that isn't the issue.

This sounds totally stupid. How do I find out what I am burning in NTSC or PAL. I need some help. I have burned alot of dvds. All of these off of torrent sites. Lately the dvds have worked and some have not. I am not doing anything differently. That I know of.
The dvds that have not played in my 2 dvd players one says can't read disc the other says playback prohibited by area limitations, hope this helps
    Thanks,
    Matt

    matt1231,
I'm not familiar with the application you're using to convert. I use ConvertXtoDVD. There's a somewhat similar software, DVD Flick. The guide can be found here.
