i need help with my ibm cd-rom 4x portable (pcmcia)

    i have toshiba satellite 110ct and ibm portable 4x speed cd-rom drive...

    Now i need to install windows and i don't have nullmodem... only cd... i have driver files and i mod config.sys and autoexec.bat but cd-rom drive don't read cd's...

    I see only "not ready" in display...

    sorry my english...

    Please all help...

    english or finnish...

    have u tried going into bios and changing the first boot device to ur cd rom on PCMCIA

    my computer don't have real bios.... only boot device's is hdd and fdd... i have make fat16 file system to c and config file's... but cd-rom don't work full...

    can you try the drive on another computer to see if it reads cds, also try a cd/dvd disk cleaner on the drive

    I can't but it's can play music cd.... but then it don't need computer =)

    if anybody can't help me... i install win with nullmodem... but i realy need know how i install that cd-drive in dos

    i try install win me... now i send install file's...
    i use nullmodem... in windows cd-rom work, but not in dos...

    check the ibm site for the dos driver for your cdrom drive

    now i know why it don't work...

    cd-drive port is corrupt... hmm..

    if real is [;;;;;;;;] then it is [;I;;;;;;]
