I managed to get rid of that error with instructions from one of the moto sites. With a software like P2Kman, go into the phone and find
    /a/mobile/system/

    Delete the file:

    secure_pds_init

(you can make a backup first)

was that message for me? the only program i can get to work is smartmoto. i followed the steps exactly and the program mot-unlocker said my phone was unlocked, however it still asked me for the subsidy code when i turned it back on. i entered all the zeros and now it says contact service provider. is there anything i can do to fix it?

    thanks ally

well if smartmoto is working then p2kman should work. After flashing and unlocking I found some error message about the subsidy when I put the new sim card in. Going to
    /a/mobile/system/
    and deleting
    secure_pds_init
    fixed it for me.

you can only enter the code 5 or 6 times then the phone locks the sim then your screwed with that card. sounds like the phone was not unlocked with the software you used .If it was unlocked it would not ask for the code.(no need to enter 00000000) does the sim still work in your old phone?..

ok so i got P2Kman working but i cant find that file to delete. does this mean my sim is locked? it is an orange sim card and works in the phone i got it with, but when i insert it into the razr it still asks me for the subsidy password (after contact service provider has gone). i followed scrabbins instructions to the letter and seemed to have no complications. any ideas?

    thanks ally

ok, i got it sorted. the phone is unlocked, but the sim is locked, as three other sims worked in the razr. thank you for your help scrabbins, i will probably be back soon with another hilarious tedious problem. ha

    thanks again

As far as I know, to get an Orange sim card working in any phone you need to call Orange on 07973 100 450 using a landline and register your phone with them
