ok so everybody please help me out, my friends dad is a total dick and think he knows everything about everything. i recently modded their xbox and now his dad is freaking out. i've been searching for a while to find proof that its legal to mod the box but i figured i'd ask for all of your help too. so please tell me everything you know on this issue and help me out.

If you are modding it to play pirated games, then yes, I'd say it's illegal. If you are using it for media centre purposes etc, which will be in no way affiliated with pirated media, then it should all be fine! Microsoft don't care about individual users and what they do with their consoles anymore! If you start selling pirated games etc, then they will have a problem with you! Mod up and have fun! Softmods are easy and reversable!
Technically its not illegal since near my area there is mod shop for xbox's PS2's and other console and the cops don't do anything about. Max
Like they said, if you plan to use pirated media on your xbox its illegal. If you own the media, its legal.
