OK, buckle in cause im in trouble lol.
I downloaded dvdshrink i also have dvd encryptor. My computer is an HP pavillion 6630 running windows 98 2nd edition and i have about 9GB (i think, with only 5 something free.) anyway.. Not only since i put this dvd r/rw drive in my comp has my speaker sound been acting kinda like whie noisie even with nothing playing but also here is the problem.. First i pop in the dvd go to dvd encryptor , decrypt the dvd wich takes like an hour, dont know if thats normal, ANd while its doing that like every minute my comp will i guess pop up a blue screen like a windows error screen saying unable to write disk to c or something and then i just press any key and it pops back to my original screen and continues to what seems to be decrypting fine except that it takes forever..so then the next thing i run into after its all done i open dvd shrink and try to open files but it wont even open the video_ts file.. it says this :

"DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Failed to open file "C:\THE LOST BOYS SE DISC1\VIDEO TS\VTS 01 06.VOB
the system cannot find the file specified.

Whats going on?, i mean I thought this stuff was easy lol. Any help would be appreciated.. i mean for all i know im not even running the programs in order or i dunno .. im a "lost boy"

You do not have enough space available on your hardrive for successful ripping/encoding and other processes.

Miminum of 8 to 10Gb free harddisk space recommended.

How much memory (RAM) do you have and is your file system FAT32 or NTFS?

Thats not a big problem. I always get it. You get it because the file path is too long i.e. it is in folder after folder after folder.
Just move the video ts folder to the destop and open the files from there using dvd shrink. It should work out ok.
About all the noise and errors it seems your computer isn't up to standard to copy dvds.

The FAT32 system does not do file size over 4gig. You really need NTFS file system.

128Mb RAM is insufficient for DVD burning - also based on your inital post you need more free hard disk space.

Time to upgrade. Win98 + Fat32= no good for video work.
