Well see... i got the game GTA san andreas for pc, but my computer doesnt really let me play it at a good quality, it kinda goes slow on some parts n eventually freezes, so i decided ima build a gaming computer. Soon tho.. Oh and my aunt bought me Call Of Duty 2 but my PC sucks.. Cant play it.. Im hopin this one that Im building would let me play it. This Is Wat Im Thinkin Of Gettin: CPU:-----AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Motherboard:----Asus A8N-SLI Premium ATX AMD Motherboard Memory:---------1GB PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory Graphics:----EVGA GeForce 6600GT 128MB (8x PCIe Graphics Card) Soundcard:--(Dont Need One, MOBO Brings Realtek ALC850 Integrated) HDD:--------Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB 7200rpm SATA OEM Case:----AeroCool AeroEngine 2 Case - Black (it gotta SideWindow lol) If you think theres anything i should change then let me kno, and umm... those things up there are only temporerly, ima get another HDD and another graphics card on it too, i just want those stuff on it to start with til i get more money. So yeah, go ahead n gimme advice... and a quick question, u think itll run Call of Duty 2 after i get wat i put on that list? *crossing my fingers*
that rig looks fine for gaming but make sure that you buy the correct graphics card remember it has to PCI-Express and not AGP. i cant really tell if you have got the right card there as youve put 8x PCIe but PCIe should be 16x
hold up hold up... well i had asked my friend wich card should i get for my motherboard, i wanted sumthin good.. i was actually thinkin maybe a GeForce 6800 but he told me they had the 6600GT for cheaper n that thats the one he has n he gave me a link to the 6600GT (8x PCIe) n told me to get that... this is gonna be my first video card.. are u tellin me that that card wont work for it then? i mean they also got the 16x too n i think its cheaper...
Make sure you budget for a decent PSU too. Could have some annoying problems without. Other than that i think you'll be fine with that spec.
