I recently got a Dish Network DVR model 625 and it has the USB port on the back of it. I was wondering if it was possible to directly connect the DVR to my laptop through the USB. I assume it is not as easy as connecting them together and copy from the DVR to my laptop. Can someone let me know if they were successful in accomplishing this task and how they did it.

Well I ask one of the installers what its purpose was and he said it was for something called pocketdish. Pocketdish enables you to copy your recorded programs onto a flash drive type of device for a one use transfer. The problem is that it costs around $600.
