I'm assuming you actually have a Dreamcast.

If you grabbed it from a torrent, it's probably ready to burn. if it's an .nrg image, burn it with Nero, otherwise it's probably meant to be burnt with Padus Discjuggler.

But, in any case, once it's burnt, just pop it in your dreamcast and power on. If it's a decent image, it'll just work right away. I'd give you some more complex directions, but you probably don't want to worry about having to use command-line tools and hand-crafting the image.

The great thing about Dreamcast is that you don't need a mod chip, you don't need a bootdisc(unless it's an import), and often it'll work just fine, either on 74 minute or 80 minute CD-R

the really annoying thing is tht there are 43 'selfboot' files here and im really stuck on what 2 do with them since ive never done this before.

    43? I'm guessing you're a serious n00b with the internet, then.

Those are probably .RAR archives, in a multipart archive. Extract it.

actually- da scary thing is is dat they hv the extension 001, 002 all da way 2 042 & da last file has da extension 'sfv'. here's da name of 2 of da 42 '001' extension-type files-'Sonic.Adventure.2.SelfBoot.7z.001'
the other thing is dat the extension '00' type files r all the same size!- really stuck here
(sorry if im been a pain in the butt but im a newbie- not a pro)

no all you need is winrar. To make things easy, right-click the file with the .001 extension and select "extract here". It will extract an image file to that folder. Then open the image with nero if its .nrg or discjuggler as mentioned earlier.

if there is no extract option, just right click the .001 file, press open with... and choose winrar and tick the box that says always use this program to open .001 files.

I know that this is off topic, and that I'll probably be called a jerk for saying it.. But for the love of god, could you please speak english and stop using "dat" instead of "that", and "4" instead of "four", and "u" instead of "you. The real words don't contain that many more letters that abbreviations are necessary, and I doubt you're writing from a cell phone.

    Seriously...

A .cdi image is fine. Burn that with Padus Discjuggler.

Dorian, I was thinking much the same thing. x.x

And what should have happened with the use of HJ Split, is it would first combine the archives into a .7z archive, which you would then extract to get your game image.

And then yes, you would burn it with Padus Discjuggler.

Thank god you didn't download the raw image contents, instead. It takes a lot longer to force-build the image that way. :p
