Actually, Jim, I've been getting a similar error with my Sin City DVD, but I'm sure that my firmware is upgraded...and I bought the dics yesterday, so it's new (and clean). I watched the movie with the DVD player attached to my TV and it worked fine. Would you have any other ideas? I tried using anyDVD and DVDShrink...any DVD and DVD Decrypter...and neither of them work.
It very well could be a bad pressing,if you just bought it,try exchanging it. Standalone dvd player are sometimes less fussy than computer drives, just because it plays, doesnt mean it will rip. I just did this movie yesterday, with dvd decrypter-DVDRB/CCE,the only problem I ran into, was that the default audio stream was DTS, so if you dont have equipment that will play DTS, then the disc will at first seem without sound. All you have to do is toggle through your audio streams with your remote, to find the one that plays for you.
