I-Phone 3g password locked

    I have an I-Phone and it is password protected. So it is now locked. Is there a way to blow out the os and reinstall? I have red snow and I have the old i-phone software. Just want to start from scratch.

    Im pretty sure if you use the SHIFT+RESTORE option in itunes you will completly wipe the phone and be able to install your own firmware i would recomend one of the 3.1.2's in the iphone hack forum they come prejailbroken so no need for redsn0w... ohh and sidenot if you have tmobile get the activated version
