My McAfee Virus Scan has stopped downloading updates. Everytime I try, it says after a little while that there was an error. I've talked to several McAfee technicians, and since it's not a virus (I've scanned my DOS, etc) they say it's because there is still a Norton folder in my registry, as well as a 'symantec shared' folder in my Common Files that is interfering. I don't know why it started doing this now, as the updates have been downloading fine since I first installed McAfee. Anyways, does anyone have any advice for editing the registry? Should I just go ahead and delete the entire Norton folder, since I don't think it will do anything to my computer, except get rid of the value...then again, I could be wrong...that's why I'm asking anyone here. Thank you.
I wouldn't know much about this but u can try this program i use called registry mechanic ( http://www.download.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=registry+mechanic&tg=dl-20 ) to fix up the registry. dont think this will work but there is no harm done. dorry for not much help!!
