Unfortunately the situation is quite similar in Australia. Basically no one i know (apart from a few rich exceptions lol) have HD Tv's yet, and besides which i'm not sure if we even get HD telecasts yet. Most people have an SD set top box, to run on an analog TV just to recieve a digital signal. There's no point in having HD technology yet on that point, and i doubt PS3 will change that over here until HD becomes a mainstream premise (kind of like broadband etc).

i dont think anyone would argue with that

I just dont think its ready yet, should definately be used with the future generation of consoles tho.
I would have thought by then Nintendo would also join the HDTV era as in like 4 or 5 years most of population would be at that level as well.

I just think they should learn to walk first before trying to run if you guys get me

Yeah maybe just try and wean us ordinary consumers onto the technology. Whats the situation in Japan - they'd be ahead of everyone wouldn't they? If so maybe since Sony has a mass market share over there, they think the inclusion of HD capabilities is warranted simply for that market alone.

Yeah japan is the world leader in new technologies in general. But no. Hd isn't just popular in japan, u.s.a is pretty much going that way, and uk is getting very serious about it. Those three markets influence the rest of the world.

Yeah I guess so. The goings on in Australia really don't dictate big decisions in the Video game industry whatsoever lol. I'm surprised to hear Japan aren't big on such a technology - most of the stuff is manufactured by Japanese companies (Sony Toshiba Panasonic etc etc). I'd have thought they'd be the first to adopt it.

Oh ok. Yeah, i've always wanted to go to Japan - and even learn their language first, just to get all the crazy technology over there - and all those sweet RPG's that never make it to Australia. Would be a ball. Wish i had the cash lol...

Yeah especially writing in that Kanji or whatever they call it. I know a few words, but only beacause a couple of my mates got tattoos in that dialect haha. Trying to be hardcore lol... Whats this i hear about the PS3 being Region Free? Surely not. That would breed extreme new levels of piracy lol. Would be good for importing games from Japan though...

yeah well I'm a bit of an ebayer of late - and Regions are a big limitation on some of the games i could purchase. Especially since I'm in PAL territory - the majority of games listed are NTSC, and I haven't modded any of my current generation consoles and don't plan to mod any of the next gen ones i happen to purchase...

If a Brit had to choose between a PS3 and fixing their teeth, what would they choose?

    hehehehehehe.......very funny

Just a shame ur going on about a stupid stereotype that aint even true.

This is a more realistic one:

If a Yank had to choose between a PS3 and losing 300lbs, what would they choose?

its all about the facts baby......
