    Hi there

I uploaded the contents of my ipod to a hard drive. I downloaded a new version of I tunes. It now cannot find the music on the harddrive. How do I redirect I tunes to look at the correct folders?
Do I have to reimport these folders into my i tunes library.
Alternatively can i copy and paste these folders to a new IPOD without using I tunes at all by copying into the hidden folders?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wrong forum. You should have posted this in the ipod forum.

NO itunes is very touchy and tries to punish people that did what you did. If you cut and paste itunes might shut your ipod down for ever! Yes, you can import them back into itunes. Itunes will be fooled into thinking they are new.

You could also get a more friendly app to sync with. I like Media Monkey, the other winner is Winamp.

In all cases you will need to import the music.
